You can develop a system and automate the steps to marketing your business. Why would you do that? For consistency. Most solo entrepreneurs meet several contacts a month at networking events or they may collect names from requests for information on their website or have referrals.

In an article entitled If You Want to Get Clients, You’ll Have to Talk to Them. by CJ Hayden, author of Get Clients Now, says people buy services from people they know, like and trust. You often have to contact someone up to six times before they feel comfortable enough to buy from you.

From Hayden’s article:

"You don’t earn people’s trust by sending them a brochure.

Here are the five things that work best for most professionals to get clients:
              1. Meeting people in person — at events or by appointment
              2. Talking to people on the phone
              3. Sending personal letters and emails
              4. Following up personally over time
              5. Speaking to groups at meetings and conferences"

If you don’t have a system it’s very difficult to keep all the balls in the air, you may meet a twenty or thirty people a month, who all have a different schedule and are interested in a number different services you offer.

One of the most effective tools to automate your marketing processes is a Client Relationship Management tool. In the past, you needed to hire an "expert" to set up the system and it took several months to master the secrets of a CRM tool. A new generation of CRM tools scaled to the solo entrepreneur, cost effective, and have video training and instant messaging to Customer Support build into the system.

I’ve test driven several of the new CRM systems and like Rave by Entellium the best. It’s a system that can grow with you, the company has experience suppying CRM tools to large companies and it’s easy to use .. no three day training, you can use it the basic tools with about a half an hour of training.

You can sign up for a free 30-day trial here.

Are you using an automated Marketing tool? How has it affected your bottom line?
